1. JORG (GEORGE) WILHELM Riegel (Immigrant) was born on 20 November 1706 in Ginsweiler, Rheinland - Pfalz (Germany). He died on 7 September 1778 in Greenwich Township, Berks Co., Pennsylvania. Son of Johannes Cornelius Riegel and Anna Gertruitha

Jorg arrived on the ship "Adventure" in Philadelphia in September of 1732 with his brother Matthias. Probably met parents when they arrived in September of 1733. Married in "Little Tulpehocken Church" Berks County, PA. Much of family history extracted from that church's records. . . . George William lived near his parents during his first marriage since his children were baptized in the Tulpehocken churches.. In a 1752 Berks tax list George William "Reel" appears in Greenwich Township. Upon his death George had a farm of 50 acres in Greenwich Township. Probate records at Northumberland County reveal that he also owned a house and lot on the corner of Fourth and Market St. in Sanbury where about 100 years later the Edison Hotel was built. The two children from the second marriage, Magdelena and Henry, appeared in Berks County Court in 1802 and 1803 respectively to claim their share of the estate. JORG (GEORGE) WILHELM Riegel (Immigrant) and ANNA MARIA Plattner (Immigrant) were married on 12 January 1735/6 in Jefferson Township, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. ANNA MARIA Plattner (Immigrant) was born in 1711 in Northern Kraichgau (Germany). She died about 1760 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Daughter of Hans Jerg Plattner and Appolonia Blatner

Anna Maria, aged 20, entered PA. on the ship "Britannia" in 1731 with her brother Michael, aged 23, a Maria Katherina, age 27, Georg Michael, age 2, and Katherina Bladner, age 36.
