Ekklesia Then & Now is a bi-weekly (sometimes)
newsletter devoted to understanding and applying the lessons
taught by the early church. The main source for the lessons
will be the Word of God found in the Bible, but other primary
and secondary sources are used when appropriate.
Each issue has three sections:
- THEN - a self-contained discussion of a single concept
about the early church. These concepts will be focused on
the beliefs (orthodoxy), practices (orthopraxy), attitudes
(orthophrony), and works (orthoergon) — okay, I made
up those last two ortho- words, but they fit — of
the first few generations of Christians (mostly pre-325
A.D.)
- NOW - a discussion of how the principle introduced applies
to the church today.
- DISCUSSION - follow-up from the previous week (clarifications,
examples, questions, issues, etc.)
The purpose of Ekklesia Then & Now is to honestly
examine what God expects of the church of Jesus Christ in
today's world. It continues to be an exciting and stimulating
journey!
